    What every employer needs to know about supporting staff with caring responsibilities plus advice on how to deal with stress in the workplace and elsewhere.

    Join us for this two-part workshop to understand the impact on your business from staff that have caring responsibility. Then in part two we’ll show you or your teams how to deal with stress and improve performance. 

    Sue Grogan of Joined-Up Working runs programmes designed to help businesses maintain their productivity and turnover with staff caring for loved ones with dementia or other long-term illnesses.

    Part one:

    • Impact on the business of stressed employees
    • Costs of absenteeism/recruitment to replace staff who leave
    • Flexible working requests – New Profession Map for HR – different ways of working
    • Statistics relating to ageing population/increase in dementia diagnosis/ageing workforce/carers in workforce
    • Likely profiles of employees with caring responsibilities with skills and experience

    Part two:

    Kate Thorpe of Kate Thorpe Therapy and Coaching will look at stress in the workplace and the effects it has on your business and how you as an employer can change this.

    • What is stress? – Separating the truth from the myth
    • The impact of stress on the brain and body, (and business)
    • Compassion fatigue in carers
    • Identifying signs of stress in yourself and your people
    • Tools (experiential and practical) to reduce personal stress

    This workshop is aimed at business owners and managers directly responsible for staff or HR managers and executives working within organisations.

    This event is delivered as part of the Collaborate, Growing Business Together project in partnership with the Business Gateway growth hub, Joined-Up Working, Kate Thorpe Therapy and Coaching and East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire). It is specifically aimed at businesses based in Leicester and Leicestershire with fewer than 250 employees and which meet the eligibility criteria. We can offer a maximum of 2 places per organisation.
