‘Innovation in a Material World’ will explore the tensions and complementarities between the intangible aspects of innovation and its realization in physical form.
Location: Fielding Johnson Building, University of Leicester, University Road, Leicester, LE1 7RH
The role of the immaterial, digital and intangible inputs to innovation such as know-how, data and skills are regarded by many authors as key elements contributing to the value and organisation of product development in the future. Nevertheless, the delivery and customer utilization of even the most intangible innovations necessarily occur in the material world of things. The event will include insights from three international keynote contributors, a creative participatory exercise and plenty of opportunity for group discussion to explore the future challenges involved in managing the innovation process.
