Below is a summary of services provided by the University of Leicester

ASDEC

The Advanced Structural Dynamics Evaluation Centre (ASDEC) has been set up by the University of Leicester with funding from both ERDF and the Regional Growth Fund.

ASDEC is the UK’s first commercial 3D laser measurement & modal analysis centre, providing consultancy service based around vibration measurements.

Improving products and their performance by reducing vibration is the aim of design engineers across multiple industries, a goal often obstructed by the difficulty of obtaining good measurements of vibration as it happens.

ASDEC can test any structure, made of any material, of any size, allowing analysis of products out of reach in normal testing environments. The versatility of the system allows testing to be carried out at the ASDEC facility or on site with the company.

The dedicated ASDEC team facilitate and deliver the expertise of the centre through equipment hire, data reporting and analysis, training and collaborations to assist with new and existing product development and design through real time testing.

The ASDEC offering is available to all industry sectors especially automotive, aerospace and space industries.

Until 30th September qualifying East Midlands small or medium enterprises (SME’s) can access subsidised consultancy testing and analyses services.  ASDEC is able to fully support SME’s with between 2-5 days of testing and analysis or consultation.  To access this you will need to contact the team for an application form.
