The Collaborate ERDF grant fund has been very popular with significant demand being received. As a result we will no longer be accepting any new applications, however, if you wish to be put on a waiting list please complete the enquiry form here. Before you do please read this page to check you are eligible and to understand the grant process.

What is the Collaborate Business Growth Grant (BGG)?

The Business Growth Grant is part of Collaborate Growing Business Together project funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and run by Leicester City Council in partnership with Leicestershire County Council, Food & Drink Forum and East Midlands Chamber. The project supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Leicester and Leicestershire who are looking to grow or develop their business. The fund has been allocated but details below will help you towards being added to a waiting list for future funding.

Please note: only SMEs trading business-to-business (at least 90%) for at least 12 months and based in Leicester or Leicestershire are eligible.

SME status is defined as:

  • employ fewer than 250 people or volunteers.
  • have a turnover of less than €50M and/or have a balance sheet of less than €43M. You have received less than €200k in public grants in the last 3 years.
  • do not have more than 25% of the organisation owned by an enterprise that in itself is not an SME.

Following submission of the Enquiry Form, you will be contacted by a business adviser from the relevant sector to discuss your business further.  If appropriate the adviser will refer your enquiry onto the grant team for an expression of interest to be issued.

This process helps to add your details to our waiting list and also helps to assess your requirements. We are also aware that your project requirements may change when the next call of funding is made available, which can be accommodated at the application stage.
