From the archaeology under our feet to the historic parks we love, from precious memories to rare wildlife… the Heritage Lottery Fund uses money raised by National Lottery players to help people across the UK explore, enjoy and protect the heritage they care about.

The fund is available to support not for profit organisations or partnerships led by not for profit organisations. Whoever is involved in an application, it is important that benefits to the public outweigh private gain.

Funding can be applied for to cover a whole range of heritage projects from sharing heritage with a local community, engaging young people with heritage, personal memories and cultural traditions to archaeological sites, museum collections and rare wildlife.  There is funding to support larger projects for historic buildings, monuments, townscape heritage to improve a build historic environment, parks, landscapes and places of worship.
