Through the Local Authorities of Leicester and Leicestershire working together to pool business rates, the LLEP has been granted up to £10m over the next two years to support projects to drive productivity and help grow the Leicester and Leicestershire economy.

The LLEP is inviting applications for three types of activity:

  • Capital Fund – supporting the costs of capital projects.
  • Project Development Fund – supporting the feasibility and costs for development of the business case for proposed larger capital projects.
  • Project Revenue Fund – supporting small-scale operational activity to drive economic growth within Leicester and Leicestershire.

The criteria for each fund are available via the hyperlinks above.

All three funds are accessible through the submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the LLEP’s Open Call. Please make it clear within your EOI which fund you are applying for.

The EOI is in two parts – an online form and a logic model template, attached below. Both must be complete in order for your EOI to be assessed. The Logic Model should be uploaded and attached with the submission of the EOI form.

The deadline for the next review of Expressions of Interest has been extended to 23:59, 28th February. Please ensure all EOIs are submitted by this date.

Here you can also find guidance on completing the documentation as well as useful contact details for any questions you may have.

Projects already in the pipeline have been communicated to separately and will be considered alongside new proposals received before the deadline.

Process and Timeframe

Following the submission of an EOI, you will receive an automatic email confirming receipt.

An assessment of all EOIs for strategic fit will be undertaken by the LLEP Executive and those who are successful will be invited to complete a full Business Case.

Completion of the full Business Case and appraisal by the relevant LLEP groups will take place throughout March-May 2018. Applicants will have a firm deadline to return their completed Business Case with any supporting documentation. The LLEP aims to take first funding decisions at the LLEP Board meeting in June 2018.

Monies will be released for projects as they are available to the LLEP. Projects that are seeking an allocation of funding for future years are welcome to apply and this should be made clear in the application.

The LLEP will continue to review EOIs within the pipeline on a quarterly basis and invite those with strategic fit and an available funding route to complete a business case. In regards to the funding available for these types of activity, it should be noted by potential applicants that this is a competitive fund and the money available may be allocated within this first round, for which the deadline for EOI submission is 28th February 2018.
