Leicester and Leicestershire Loan Funds

Growing Places FundA revolving capital loan scheme for projects which are currently stalled, or development proposals which can be accelerated with an injection of Growing Places Fund loan capital for infrastructure.

Leicester City Investment Fund: Leicester City based businesses can apply for loans of between £500,000 and £4 million.  The fund is designed to encourage business growth, job creation, development and regeneration in the Leicester City area.

Midlands Engine Investment Fund: A new £250m Midlands Engine Investment Fund aimed at boosting the region’s economy and supporting the growth ambitions of its 460,000 smaller businesses.

Sir Thomas White Charity: Leicester based charity providing interest free business loans up to £20,000 for small businesses trading less than 3 years and based in Leicestershire and Rutland


Other Loan Funds

British Business Bank – Help to Grow: This fund addresses the financing needs of smaller businesses which are struggling to raise sufficient senior debt to fund their growth opportunities.  the first £30m of Help to Grow supported lending is delivered through Lloyds Banking Group for loans of £500k to £2m.

Coalfields Funds: equity and equity related funding ranging from a minimum of £500,000 to a maximum of £1.5 million, normally structured as equity with loan or preference share capital, or a combination of both.

First Enterprise Small Loans for Business: Provides business loans to individuals, aiming to support good business ideas that could be difficult to fund through other means.  Loans from £3,000 to £50,000 are available with 30% contribution required from the applicant.

Funding CircleFunding Circle is the world’s leading marketplace exclusively focused on small businesses.  Loans are available from £5k to £1m directly from a wide range of investors, including more than 44,000 people, the UK Government, local councils, a university and a number of financial organisations.

Home building Fund: Loan fund of £250k to £250m available to builders of all sizes to build homes and develop infrastructure

iAMDigital Fund: Interest Free Loan Fund or equity from £50k to £200K  that is 50% matched by a business with a social mission to digitally up skill young people aged 16-24

Invest to Grow: £16m East Midlands wide funding available to SME’s – Loans ranging from £15k to £250k to cover 30% of a project cost.

Key Fund for Social & Community Businesses: offering grants, loans and equity from £5,000 to £150,000 to organisations in the East Midlands who have social and community aims and have been refused funding from elsewhere

Sporting Capital Fund: The £3m Sporting Capital Fund provides loan funding of between £50,000 and £150,000. The loan funding will be used to help organisations develop new projects, operations and revenue streams, to help develop more sustainable community sports organisations.

Tooling Fund Programme: Loan facility £50k to £2m at commercial rate of interest aimed at toolmakers and component manufacturers to fund design, development/manufacture of tools or expansion of tooling capacity
